The Ten Commandments of Penwood

1. Common courtesy is a must! Watch language, vulgarities, abuse or harassment as they will not be tolerated. A few swear words are fine, but if your post looks like the lyrics to a rap song, then it will be dealt with.

2. No spamming. This can be posting or advertising websites or spamming posts. You may link to other sites in your signature or in your profile so long as they are appropriate sites. You may also link to a picture of your character(s), but only if they are in your signature or in your character thread.

3. No double posting. If you need to make changes to your post please use the edit button.

4. You are encouraged to make in-depth posts such as;

“And as Travis’s face seemed to fall like his own Pokemon, Hokuto’s own beamed brightly as the Beedrill finally hit the ground being unable to move any further. “Way to go Ralis,” she cried out with much enthusiasm. As her own Pokemon made many sounds of celebration, she turned an icy glare to the angry scientist. “Looks like you’re finished.”

This brings up the overall quality of the forum and makes it more fun for everyone. Please be sure to double check your posts for spelling and grammar before posting. All posts should be kept on topic.

5. Make a post in the Characters thread when you start. There will be an optional template there that you may use for your character but it is not mandatory. You must give a description of your character with things including but not limited to name, age, hair color, eye color, and home city (Kanto/Johto) . Keep characters realistic (as possible) no gods, demons, elves, or non-humans. You are allowed to have more then one character, and not all characters have to be made at the same time. Your characters are allowed to form groups and go adventuring with other characters.

6. You will receive your first pokemon at the pokemon lab (in Pallet Town) from Professor Willo. Please start off by paying her a visit. You are also not allowed to start off with a preset team. When you do go to pick up your first pokemon, you are allowed to chose out of any of the 1st through 4th gen starters. Try not to chose one that has already been chosen, as this will make the game more diverse.

7. This RP allows for pokemon from the 1st to the 4th generation. 5th generation pokemon are not allowed. As you are Rping, keep in mind the area your team is currently in. If you are just leaving Pallet Town then encountering a strong Arcanine is farfetched. In a related example, having the Charmander you just received know flamethrower is also unlikely.

8. At times, the administrator or a moderator may make obstacles for you and your team to over come i.e. having a wild pokemon attack you, or team rocket try to steal your pokemon. Have fun with this, as it is just around to keep things interesting. You will not be viciously attacked or abused by the mods, and will always have the opportunity to recuperate from whatever they did.

9. No legendaries and no godmoding. While it is acceptable for you to catch a rare glimpse of a legendary as you are walking along, you are not allowed to catch them. This is to prevent “the god mode” as well as one person having an unfair advantage. Please note that only moderators can control the actions of legendaries!
